Autobedrijf Schaepkens is a family business founded in 1979. What once started as a gas station grew over the years into a car dealership with a stock of approximately 150 cars. One thing is central to this: only Dutch cars are sold.

Since 2016, Autobedrijf Schaepkens has been working with CarCollect. The reason was practical. A major supplier, Autobedrijf Hekkert, switched to CarCollect at the time. “We were one of their largest customers. When they switched to CarCollect, we essentially went along with them. That way, we could simply continue purchasing our cars from them.

Nationwide selection, more possibilities
Thanks to CarCollect, Autobedrijf Schaepkens gained access to a much larger range of vehicles. “The great thing is that the selection is nationwide. We now purchase cars throughout the Netherlands, from Groningen to Zeeland and, of course, still in Limburg.

The platform now plays a major role in the company's purchasing strategy. “I think we purchase at least 80 percent of our cars via CarCollect.

Daily insight into the inventory
At Autobedrijf Schaepkens, three people work with CarCollect. They use a single account to maintain an overview.

We are actually on CarCollect daily to see what is happening in the country. We mark cars that are of interest as favorites. And a few times a week, we take the time to go through those favorites and see what we really need for our inventory.

Valuable feedback on bids
Another benefit that Schaepkens experiences is the feedback on bids. “When you bid regularly via CarCollect, you also receive emails with information about the progress of your bid. This allows you to see if your bid was right, or if you were probably off. That also provides insight into what a car is actually worth.

That information helps the company with future bids. “We often bid on the same or similar cars. In that case, it is nice to know how such a car is positioned in the market.

Clear and fast working
According to Schaepkens, the strength of CarCollect also lies in the ease of use of the platform. “The system is very clear. You can easily scroll through it and immediately see if a car has a NAP logo, for example.

That is important for the company, because they sell exclusively Dutch cars. “You can tell immediately from the NAP logo whether a car is an import or not. This allows you to filter quickly and search specifically.

According to Schaepkens, the rest of the process is also simple. “You see immediately whether a car has been awarded, whether it needs to be paid for, or whether the transfer of ownership still needs to be completed. The steps are clear and it simply works very well.
