Reporting illegal content
Do you see any form of illegal content on the CarCollect platform? Please let us know.
Illegal content means information that, in itself or because of its content, is contrary to Union law or to the law of a Member State that is in accordance with Union law. Examples include infringements of intellectual property rights, the unlawful publication of personal data or other information that is contrary to applicable laws and regulations.
Below, we explain how we handle reports concerning illegal content.
How does submitting a report work?
- Submit a report
If you encounter content on the CarCollect platform that you believe is illegal, you can report it by email to support@carcollect.com.
Include sufficient specific information in this email so that we can identify the content concerned and assess the report. In any case, include:
• where the content concerned is located on the platform, for example the URL;
• why you believe the content concerned is illegal;
• your name and email address;
• any relevant additional information or supporting evidence;
• a statement confirming that you believe in good faith that the information in the report is correct and complete.
If relevant, you may also provide contact information for the person to whom the reported content relates.
- Confirmation of receipt
After receiving the report, we will confirm receipt if you have provided your contact details.
- Assessment of the report
After receiving the report, we will assess it carefully and as soon as possible. In doing so, we will assess, among other things, the information you have provided and, where necessary, the content concerned and additional information.
If we do not have sufficient information to assess the report, we may request additional information.
- Decision
Once we have sufficient information, we will make a decision regarding the reported content.
If we determine that the content is illegal, we may take appropriate measures. Depending on the nature and seriousness of the situation, this may, for example, mean that we remove the content concerned or make it inaccessible. Where appropriate, we may also take other measures, such as restricting or suspending a user’s access to (parts of) the platform.
If we determine that the content is not illegal, the content will in principle remain accessible.
When making decisions, we act carefully, objectively and in a non-arbitrary manner.
- Informeren over de beslissing
We will inform the reporting party as soon as possible about the decision taken in response to the report, insofar as we have contact details.
If, following the report, we make a decision regarding the availability of content or restrict a user’s access to the platform, we will inform the user concerned, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, of the reasons for this decision and, where applicable, of the options available to challenge this decision.

Complaints procedure
Do you disagree with a decision made by CarCollect regarding a report you submitted through our procedure for reporting illegal content, or with a decision taken as a result of such a report? You can submit a complaint about this free of charge.
You can submit a complaint by email to support@carcollect.com. Clearly state which decision you object to and why.
You can submit a complaint within six months after you have been informed of the relevant decision.
We will handle your complaint in a timely, careful and objective manner. Your complaint will be assessed under the supervision of qualified staff and not solely by automated means.
We will inform you of our reasoned decision as soon as possible. If, as a result of your complaint, we reach a different conclusion, we will revise the original decision where necessary.
