Rick van Sluijs from qoets.nl explains how CarCollect helps to sell trade-in cars efficiently while simultaneously maintaining an overview of the entire remarketing process.
“My name is Rick van Sluijs. I work at qoets.nl as a sales associate, and I also ensure that our trade-in cars appear on CarCollect.”
Rick started at the company four years ago as a graduating intern and subsequently rose through the ranks of the sales team.
A car company with 100 years of history
Qoets has a long history in the automotive industry. “The company started about 100 years ago as a Buick and Opel dealer in Friesland. After that, we were a BMW dealer in Leeuwarden for about 30 years.”
Today, qoets.nl sells cars from stock and on order. In addition, the company develops its own software to ensure the customer journey runs as smoothly as possible. “So, even though we operate in a very modern way nowadays, we have actually been around for a hundred years.”
From a small network to a nationwide platform
Before qoets.nl started working with CarCollect, the remarketing process was different. “Previously, we requested trade-in prices from a select number of companies. With CarCollect, that works much better because you reach a much broader network and the process is also faster.”
The process starts with the trade-in itself. “We first convert our trade-in vehicles into cash internally ourselves. When a car is actually traded in, it goes to Leeuwarden.”
There, the car is fully prepared for sale. “The car is washed, photographed, and fully documented. Think of damage, tire treads, and the history. As a result, it is very clear to buyers what they are buying.”
Targeted selling via CarCollect
Not all cars go to the platform. “We usually keep young cars with low mileage from the brands we sell ourselves. But we almost always list unusual brands or older cars on CarCollect.”
The preparation takes place in Leeuwarden. “A colleague takes the photos of the car, including any damage, tire treads, and history. He sends that to me, and I then list the car on CarCollect.”
Recognizable presentation and high award rates
According to Rick, part of the success lies in the way qoets.nl presents the cars. “The nice thing about CarCollect is that we can combine our own way of working with the system. We always photograph our cars in the same way.”
That recognizability works to their advantage. “Because of this, dealers know what to expect. Ultimately, that results in an award rate of around 90 percent.”
Strong track record on the platform
In the four years that qoets.nl has been working with CarCollect, hundreds of cars have already been sold. “We have now awarded over 700 cars via the platform.”
This also yields valuable market information. “As a result, we have built up a large frame of reference that we can also use towards our customers.”
Everything clearly organized in one system
One of the biggest advantages for Rick is the overview. “Everything is on one page. In the past, for example, I had to scroll back in WhatsApp to see what a car had done in terms of price previously.”
That made the process a lot more confusing and time-consuming. “With CarCollect, everything is simply in one system.”
From sales to invoicing and transport
Further processing also takes place via the same platform. “Not only selling cars, but also invoicing and arranging transport are all in the same system.”
According to Rick, that makes working with CarCollect a lot more efficient. “That just makes it incredibly pleasant to work with, along with the support we receive from CarCollect.”
And when asked what he would change about CarCollect, he concludes with a wink: “Yeah… CarCollect with a Q, of course.”
