Dusseldorp BMW & MINI ✕ CarCollect

At Dusseldorp BMW, CarCollect is specifically used for the sale of vehicles outside their own brands. By moving away from individual trade bids and taking control of appraisals themselves, the process has become faster and more structured.

Cars are only listed on CarCollect after being taken in as trade-ins, complete with photos and documentation. Thanks to the broad network of buyers and the speed of the platform, Dusseldorp achieves efficient sales, with less dependency on external parties and more control over the outcome.

Anjo Damming of Dusseldorp BMW explains how CarCollect is used to streamline and accelerate the sales process of ‘non-brand’ used cars.

I am Anjo Damming, I work at Dusseldorp BMW. I was brought in to bring structure to the used car market, particularly for vehicles outside BMW and MINI.

Within Dusseldorp, the focus is on optimizing the remarketing process for these vehicles. “My role is to ensure that non-brand vehicles are directed to the trade in the right way.

From individual bids to one clear approach
Previously, Dusseldorp worked with multiple traders at the same time. “The old way of working was that we had five trade bids within fifteen minutes.

However, this way of working resulted in less overview and more unrest in the process. That is why a conscious decision was made to change the approach. “We chose to work entirely with CarCollect. This provides more insight and less movement towards traders’ showrooms.

Taking control of appraisals
Dusseldorp has also made a clear choice in the way appraisals are handled. “At the beginning, we used CarCollect to request bids for non-brand vehicles. But now we determine ourselves what a car is worth.

This means that no bids are requested in advance. “We take control ourselves. Only when a car has been taken in as a trade-in, we list it on CarCollect.

CarCollect is therefore used purely as a sales channel. “We now only use the platform to sell cars.

Fast switching and immediate online visibility
An important advantage is the speed of the process. “We can put a car online very quickly, including photos, documentation and mileage.

This ensures that cars are immediately visible to a large network of buyers. “There are both large and smaller companies on the platform that place serious bids.

Efficient working for the entire team
According to Anjo, CarCollect also helps save time within the team. “It is a convenient system where you can enter cars quickly and easily. That saves our salespeople a lot of time, allowing them to focus on other tasks.

Flexible and future-oriented platform
Finally, Dusseldorp also sees the strength in the ongoing development of the platform. “What makes CarCollect interesting is not only the network of buyers, but also the willingness to think along in terms of IT and adapt the system to the customer’s needs.

And according to Anjo, that makes it a strong solution for the market. “I think CarCollect is interesting for many companies, precisely because of that combination of speed, flexibility and a strong network.
